24 No-Brainer Outfit Ideas I'm Working My Way Through This Spring

Right now’s safe to say my style has been built solely on comfort. Working from home more often has meant leaving the house less. Living in Scotland and being the sort of person who feels the chill in even the slightest of breezes means that when I do venture out, staying warm is the goal, and making my outfits more practical has become an increased priority. Aside from the odd dress or skirt-and-jumper combination, I’ve spent more time than I’d like to admit in joggers this year—and not fancy ones at that. Comfortable they may be, but wearing them day in and day out made me feel as if I’d lost my sense of style.

While I’ve grown fond of them and will probably still turn to them on particularly chilly days, I’ve decided that, for spring 2023, I’m vowing to be more experimental with my outfits. To equip me with all the style inspiration I need, I’ve started archiving some of my favourite outfits ideas I spot as I scroll on Instagram. So good are the ensembles I found I decided to share them with you, too—you can thank me later.

Below, you’ll find an edit of the easy outfit ideas I intend on re-creating, as well as shopping out the key piece required to make them a reality. Keep scrolling to see them all.

If you buy one thing this season, might I suggest a denim skirt. Midi and maxi styles are all over my Instagram feed right now and the best part is, they’ll instantly go with everything you already wear jeans with.

If comfort is high on your agenda, too, swap out your joggers for a knitted dress and I promise it’ll be just as snug.

I’m a sucker for cute knitwear and although this classic Fair Isle knit would work with jeans or leather trousers, I’m enjoying Lucy Williams’ take with cargo trousers and Birkenstocks.

Blazers are the cornerstone of all my favourite outfits—this is precisely how I’ll be wearing my black style this season.

The maxi skirt is back, and I’m excited. Style it with a leather bomber to make it feel fresh.

The only thing easier to throw on in the morning than a dress? A sleek jumpsuit.

I own a few printed midi skirts but, this season, I’m looking for something different. Amira guided me to it with her camouflage floorsweeper.

Oxford shirts have the power to make any outfit look polished; this Finery number is on my wish list.

Bomber’s are the season’s most in-demand outerwear; Amy makes hers look all the more polished with a pair of tailored trousers in a similar hue.

Probably the coolest example of how to style leather trousers that I’ve seen.

There’s no way I’m packing away my beloved striped polo sweater anytime soon. Instead, I’ll be copying Francesca and wearing mine with slip skirts (and boots in lieu of sandals).

Like Monikh, I’ve also invested heavily in the puff-sleeve top trend. Thanks to this look, I’ll now only be wearing them with denim and thong sandals.

Paloma gives her chic skirt-and-vest-top outfit an edge with the addition of a scarf.

Wearing a waistcoat as a top is very 2023. Go matchy-matchy in the trouser department to complete the look.

We’ve already covered the fact that bombers will work hard for you this spring. If you’re into the trend just as much as I am, then might I bring your attention to this sleek leather version.

Baggy jeans are back, and I’m being swayed by Abisola’s pair with a popping pink top and trench. Dreamy.

Natasha’s oversize-blazer-and-denim-shorts combination strikes the perfect high/low balance.

Loafers will never go out of style, so investing in a pair is something I’ll always advocate for. Right now, I’m really into chunky styles (paired with white socks).

I’m always tentative about wearing slip dresses, but Mira’s look has convinced me to finally try the trend.

Not just for evening or work, Amaka showcases the perfect way to wear wide-leg trousers in your downtime. Just add leathers and Converse.

Why pack your knee-high boots away when you can add them to a skirt co-ord for a ’60s vibe?

Dark denim is going to be a major 2023 trend, and Marilyn proves just how chic it can look with an effortless white shirt.

Monochrome dressing, wearing one colour top-to-toe, is a favourite hack amongst Instagram dressers. Here, we love how Sasha punctuates her lemon palette with black accessories.

If you’re looking for the speediest way to make your outfits feel fresh this season, the answer is New Balance kicks.
