29 Anti-Trend Zara Items You're About to See All Over London

When it comes to fashion, simplicity never goes out of style, and Zara seems to have embraced this notion in a big way for autumn. Scrolling through its new-in section this week, I couldn’t help but think how anti-trend it was. I place of statement pieces and bold palettes, there is a distinct focus on what I’d generally consider to be basics—pieces such as tailored trousers, jersey tops, staple knitwear, and Oxford shirts. Essentially, items that ensure you always look chic, regardless of the current trend climate.

Of course, this really should come as no surprise considering the quiet-luxury aesthetic has had a hold on fashion for the best part of 2023. In case you aren’t 100% set on what quiet luxury is, it’s essentially fashion that embodies understated elegance and refined simplicity; timeless pieces that exude sophistication without the need for overt logos or flashy designs. Although many have embraced this look, I’d say it’s London that is truly encapsulating this movement right now, especially as we head into autumn where things like knitwear, loafers and trench coats come into play. And Zara is proof that you don’t need an unlimited budget to give your new-season capsule that anti-trend finish.

Below, I’ve assembled an edit of the chicest Zara buys that have just landed on site, all of which fall under the category of “affordable but classic”. You know what to do…

This looks just like the waistcoat J-Law recently wore.

An essential in any Brit wardrobe.

Zara’s cashmere has just landed.

I just ordered these.

These also come in a pretty metallic gold shade.

Speaking of knitwear…

Canvas bags never go out of style. This one works for autumn due to its leather/canvas mix.

It’s officially jumpsuit season.

This season, blazers are going to look a bit more fitted than they have previously.

Finally, the brand’s best-selling Marine jean-shape now comes in a faux-leather trouser.

Faux the co-ord look with this all-in-one.

This looks so expensive in real life.

Mark my words—this jacket will sell out fast.

Wear this with loafers or heels—the choice is yours.

I love flats, but these block-heel loafers are tempting me to opt for a bit of height.

My weakness is Zara cardigans.

At this price, I’m tempted to order the black and camel tones, too.

Joggers, but make them high-end.

I’ll wear this with everything from jeans to slip skirts.

This has French-girl written all over it.

Denim skirts are for life, not just for 2023.

For any autumn occasions you might have on the horizon.

You can never go wrong with Breton stripes.

I wear a white Zara shirt all the time, so I’m interested to see how versatile this khaki iteration is.

I’m petite, so I always snap up Zara’s cropped trouser options.

Sofia Richie put T-shirt dresses back on the map.

This reminds me of the stitching on Toteme’s cult scarf coat.

See what I mean about blazers going hourglass?

A new take on the classic white button-up.
