49ers’ Brock Purdy leaves game vs. Eagles with right elbow injury

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy left Sunday’s NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a right elbow injury.

Purdy sustained the injury after Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick hit his arm while attempting a throw that caused a fumble on the play.

Purdy was questionable to return and was replaced by Josh Johnson, who is the fourth different quarterback San Francisco has used this season.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo remains out with a foot injury, but could be available as a backup if San Francisco reaches the Super Bowl. Trey Lance had season-ending surgery after suffering a broken right hand back in Week 2.
