5 Jacket Outfit Ideas That Will See You Through the Next Few Months

There’s a certain sweet spot throughout the month of October when a jacket becomes your ultimate outfit companion. It’s the few weeks when a jumper isn’t quite enough but you dread the idea of putting on a coat (knowing full well you’ll be living in those for the foreseeable future). Whether it be a trusty shacket which covers you for casual days or a leather blazer which can be relied on for weekend outings, jackets are the trans-seasonal staple that will become a priority throughout this autumnal in-between time.

And if the current weather is anything to go by, it’s the essential you’ll be reaching for most over the next few weeks. Evidently, I have recently spotted a number of stylish outfits in which an autumnal jacket has become the hero of the look. Mary L. Jean has been sporting a luxe-looking Monki faux leather jacket in a pastel shade of green, while Tanice Elizabeth’s penchant for boxy blazers has me dying to try a few new looks.

In honour of the pre-winter weather, keep scrolling for five jacket outfit ideas to see you through the next few months.

Style Notes: Boxy blazers have been a wardrobe hero for quite some time. For autumn, I’d suggest investing in a heavier blazer (in a wool fabric or something similar) which is sure to keep you a little warmer.

Style Notes: This mint green Monki jacket is a statement in itself, meaning you can keep the rest of your look relatively minimalist, as Jean has done here.

Style Notes: A puffer jacket can often feel like more of a casual item, though Babba managed to elevate her look by pairing her puffer alongside a silky maxi dress.

Style Notes: There are few looks as timeless as a blazer and midi dress. Here, Danielle Williams-Eke adds interest to the outfit by pairing it with a statement bag.

Style Notes: As a casual go-to, a wool-blend shacket is the kind of item you can throw over your favourite jeans and jumper look or over leggings for a weekend brunch.
