If someone told me I could only shop in one store forevermore, & Other Stories might just clinch it. I’m not sure what I ever did before the H&M Group’s carefully curated and hugely covetable brand sprung onto the high street in 2013. More grown-up than the stores that had carried me through my teenage years and early 20s, there was a brand that felt like shopping in a well-stocked boutique and carved out its own must-haves, rather than mimicking short-lived trends.
And the novelty hasn’t worn off—for the product has only grown stronger and my love for it even fonder. Initially great for basics with a twist (and products to add a design edge to your bathroom #shelfie), it’s now a destination for whimsical tops, printed dresses and blazers that sell out overnight (this wool style blazer has been particularly popular) and inspired collaborations. Its sub-brands are also a unique touch; rather than having lots of different product ranges, the collections are designed under one name but the atelier is noted in the label, be it in Los Angeles, Stockholm or Paris.
I’m not alone in my adoration of & Other Stories. Check out what it’s particularly good for in real life, and our favourite pieces to shop now.
Influencers seem to be just as obsessed with the & Other Stories dress section as we are, and we’re not surprised when there are multiple wear-on-repeat options. As always, expect plenty of subtle prints this season as well as muted tones—perfect for bulking out your workwear wardrobe.
If there’s one place we know we’ll always find the perfect blazer—or any other kind of jacket for that matter—it’s & Other Stories. When it comes to simple styles they cut a mean blazer, often with well-fitted waistlines and rendered in quality fabrics. But you’ll also find more trend-driven options, like the belted iteration that are taking over instagram.
Though it’s incredibly hard to choose the best pieces from & Other Stories, you can rest assured was really the knitwear section will be included. From chunky cropped cardigans to printed jumpers, we want to buy the whole lot.
Ask any fashion editor where she likes to buy lingerie on the high street, and she will say the same thing: & Other Stories. Its range is fairly extensive (although some bigger sizes would be appreciated) and the brand does basics as well as more extravagant, trendy pieces like bodysuits you can wear on a night out with jeans.
Leopard print is always going to be around for autumn/winter, and it’s going strong at & Other Stories right now. Street stylers have been clamouring for the slinky spotty skirt, while the dresses and blouses are key buys for sure.
We’re adding those final things into our cart like lingerie, but no exploration is complete without checking the jewellery department out. From expensive-looking gold coin medallions and rings to jazzier party pieces, Stories has an editor-approved array of jewellery.
