7 Easy Jeans Outfits You Can Wear on Repeat This Summer

Looking for summer jeans outfit inspiration? You’ve come to the right place.

Although jeans aren’t typically deemed summer wear, there’s something about an English summer (or lack thereof) that heightens my appreciation of the jeans and top formula. Like a throw on crew neck t-shirt or compact umbrella, denim looks are stored in the back pocket of my fashion archive, within easy reach for the construction of a laid-back look within moments.

Jeans and top combinations are resolute, regardless of the season. It’s one of a few dependable items that exist amongst more frivolous fashion counterparts. It never fails to astound me how the simplest of pieces can carry the weight of an ensemble, and even improve it.

It may be the foundation of a simple aesthetic, but jeans are the building block for trend-forward and off-duty looks. Denim appreciation is on the increase, and subsequently, styles are becoming more varied with regard to shaping. The past few years have seen us revert to the high-rise, loose-fitting styles of the ‘80s and ‘90s and, if we’ve learnt anything from style mavens of those eras, it’s that jeans look chic juxtaposed with slim-fitting strappy tops and billowy sleeve shirts during the summer. Denim exceeds generations, aesthetics, and seasons, so it’s only right that jeans transcend to summer, where the weather allows for lenient and more versatile dressing.

Styling options are plentiful for the summer. From sleeveless vests and Victoriana blouses to overshirts, summer calls for understated pairings. The current offerings are becoming chicer as the season progresses and allows top-half dressing to shine even brighter. Boyish fits like barrel and straight leg cuts are most practical for heat as they allow the flow of air. Likewise, white denim is prominent during the warmer seasons as neutral tones uplift outfits with one sweep of colour. If you’re wanting to celebrate the denim in your arsenal this summer with some chic high-low pairings, then look no further than these 7 summer looks.

Style Notes:  Lindsey’s outfit is the perfect after-hours ensemble. Paired with low mules a lightweight vintage blazer, and an oak-coloured bag, the deep blue jeans pop under the evening light.

The upturned collar and linen fabrication give this blazer an understated feel.

Not only is lyocell sustainable, but it will also keep you cool in the summer.

The chicest fit.

This bag is the suitor of all seasons.

Monochrome fun with trend-forward straps.

Style Notes: The most subdued colour blocking you’ll ever meet – white on white, or ecru is classically Parisian. Bright colours breathe lustre into the deeper pallets we become accustomed to in the autumn-winter months. White canvas shoes and a patent bag complete the freshest look.

The tee our editors swear by.

I choose straight leg jeans every single time.

Why not extend the colour blocking to accessories. Resin jewels add a playful element to this classic look.

A classic patent handbag compliments this streamlined look.

I wear my Superga so often in the summer.

Style Notes: All hail the scarf and its many uses – a hair tie, a twilly and traditional speaking a collared wrap. In this case, it fashions into a taught Bandana top, reminiscent of Y2K but with a tinge of French effortless. Worn with jean shorts or sweeping denim, it’s a match to behold for summer.

Le Scarf epitomises French styling with silky accessories.

A slightly looser leg fit adds a touch of androgyny to the feminine top half styling.

An everyday and any occasion bag.

Thong mules are a summer staple for me and this And Other Stories shoe has padded straps for extra comfort.

Style Notes: The silk and cotton mix shirt paired with the rigidity of vintage style denim offsets this look. The open-toe sandals with the small hammock style bag is a nod to summer.

Classic at the front and modern at the back.

These jeans have gained acclaim as some of the best fitting, high-quality straight leg jeans.

The perfect underarm accessory with ‘90s shaping and an ecru and black leather weave.

I’m so impressed with these ballet flats.

Style Note: This is a clash of classic prints that just works. A layered outfit will enable you to chop and change depending on the climate. Prop up with mules and a handsfree bag and you’re (UK) summer-ready.

I love the nipped waist detail and collarless feature on this piece.

This shirt is one of my favourite newly released high street pieces. The balloon-shaped sleeves add a billowy touch.

It’s a testament to design when the same styles are released each season.
