There is a question mark over fashion weeks for 2020 and whether they will go ahead digitally or in a physical format. Copenhagen Fashion Week took place this week with several small, intimate presentations and shows, which brought with it the return of street style. Each year, Copenhagen Fashion Week is becoming more recognised on the international fashion stage thanks to its leading sustainable initiatives and designers, such as Ganni and Cecilie Bahnsen, who are celebrated for their distinctive aesthetics. The street style scene is also highly influential, as there is a long list of trends that have originated from the Danish capital. Think colourful midi dresses paired with flip-flops and bright, colourful prints worn together.
You won’t see editors and buyers wearing an all-black fashion uniform in Copenhagen. This fashion week is all about having fun and experimenting with personal style, which often translates into a whole lot of colour. The street style images from Copenhagen certainly didn’t disappoint. As ever, these pictures have inspired plenty of new styling ideas.

The item we spotted the most of in the Copenhagen street style images is white shirts, either a classic Oxford or shirting with more elaborate detailing, such as puff sleeves and ties.

Ganni tends to lead the charge when it comes to trends in Copenhagen, and its graphic floral print was everywhere this fashion week. When it comes to these floral prints, the brighter the colours the better.
For A/W 20, many designers have been reimagining preppy staples, and the Copenhagen crowd seems particularly taken with the knitted vests and rugby shirts.
One of the colours we saw the most of outside the shows was green in all shades from vibrant apple to softer mint hues.
The street style scene at Copenhagen Fashion Week always looks like a parade of amazing dresses, and this year didn’t disappoint. From crochet maxis to tiered midis, we saw so many beautiful dresses this week.
At this time of year, many fashion editors and influencers are itching to transition into autumn trends, regardless of the weather. Boxy blazers are going to be a key buy for autumn, with exaggerated shoulders and oversize fits. We particularly love how Emili Sindlev wore her Jacquemus blazer over her shorts set.
There was also a heatwave in Copenhagen this week, which might have encouraged this underwear-as-outerwear trend. Many showgoers had their bras on show, either with their shirts worn unbuttoned or showing through transparent organza blouses.
