33 Autumn Finds From Zara, H&M and Mango I Can't Get Out of My Mind

Like so many, my shopping habits have changed vastly over the past 18 months. My second-hand intake has gone up by about 100%, and I find that I have more willpower than I previously did when scouting out the various new-in sections I browse daily—which I only do as part of my job, of course…

Ordinarily, I’d have a wish list as long as my arm filled with shoes and dresses to wear to weddings, pieces I want to pack for holidays and a handful of chic items to wear to work. Now, aside from the four weddings I have on the horizon, for which I’ll be wearing outfits I already have in my wardrobe, I haven’t felt the insatiable need to buy anything new. Still, on the cusp of a new season, I thought I’d perhaps take a look at the latest collections from some of my favourite high-street stores (I chose Zara, H&M and Mango) to see if anything would catch my eye. You probably know where this is going.

Janelle Marie Lloyd wears a pair of wide-leg jeans from H&M.

Remember that nonexistent wish list I was telling you about? Now, it’s packed full of pieces from—yep, you guessed it—Zara, H&M and Mango. Although they’ve taken slightly varied approaches, each brand is getting autumn style so bang on that creating an edit of the best pieces was no small feat. Still, being an editor means that, sometimes, I have to make very tough choices, and when it comes to showing you the pieces you absolutely need to see, I’ve managed to whittle it down to the top 11 from each brand.

Franny Fyne wears a blue knitted set from Mango.

With everything from knitted dresses and midi skirts that were made to be worn with knee-high boots (of which I’ve found a couple of excellent pairs) to updated knitwear and sleek tailoring you’d never guess came from the high street, scroll on to see 33 autumn style hits from Zara, H&M and Mango.

All roads lead towards quilted jackets this season, and this one is is very, very good.

Loose-fit denim will continue to dominate this autumn.

The perfect introduction to the knitted-vest trend.

The broderie material will make this an ideal transitional piece to see you through the summer-to-autumn shift.

These boots look so high-end.

A very premium-looking number from H&M here, this works with leggings or jeans as nicely as it does worn with a slinky slip skirt.

This trending knit also comes in classic grey.

It’s shacket season, and this one is very chic.

A stylish replacement for my well-worn slippers.

I’ll wear this with cycling shorts now and leather trousers later.

I’m going to the pretend it’s from The Row. Don’t judge me.

I don’t know when, where or how I’ll wear it, but I just know it’s a winner.

Combined with the matching asymmetric top, this is a really elegant look.

It’s limited edition and such a wonderful colour—don’t expect this to hang around for you.

Insert flame emoji here.

I can’t fault this look.

Ruching will be a huge boot trend this autumn and winter.

Every now and then, Zara brings out a real showstopper of a print. This is it.

Vintage-style earrings will elevate everything from your old chunky knitwear to simple tees.

I’m obsessed with this pretty print.

Oh, it’s very sophisticated.

Nineties-style knit dresses are making a big comeback.

Everyone in the team is obsessed with this one.

I’ve seen this dress in real life and can confirm it looks just as good up close as it does online.

I just never get bored of a teddybear coat.

I’m tempted to snap up the matching blouse to this midi skirt.

These sunglasses could easily be designer.

Party dressing for the minimalists out there.

An all-but-the-kitchen-sink bag that still looks chic. Sold.

For those Parisian vibes, look no further than this skirt.

And while you’re at it, how fab is this jumper-bandana combo?

Mark my words: Franny Fyne’s knitted co-ord is going to sell out.

Contrasting soles are another key boot microtrend to look out for.
