Italian star striker Lorenzo Insigne will sign a 5 1/2-year contract with Toronto FC, Italian soccer journalist Fabrizio Romano reports.

The Napoli star will join the MLS club in July, Romano writes.
The 30-year-old Insigne has scored five times in 17 appearances for Napoli this season. He has been with the Serie A squad since 2010.
The five-foot-four Insigne helped Italy win the Euro 2020 final against England last summer.
Toronto also reportedly has interest Andrea Belotti from Torino according to SkySport’s Gianluca Di Marzio but he has received interest from AC Milan.
Toronto FC had previous success when recruiting in Italy with Sebastian Giovinco being the club’s all-time leading goal scorer.
When asked if he could see the possibility of playing on the same team as Insigne and Belotti, Giovinco would like nothing more but isn’t optimistic that all three could come together.
“This is what I want but I think it will be difficult,” Giovinco told Italian Football TV about a potential Italian trio.
Giovinco has made it known that he would like to make a return to TFC and has made appearances at BMO Field watching his former team play. In an interview with the Toronto Star, the 34-year-old said that he has said not listened to offers from other teams because he wants to play in Toronto.
TFC is coming off a terrible season in which the club finished with the second-worst record in MLS and then made wholesale changes to management. Bob Bradley is the new head coach and sporting director of the club.
