Oilers blank Kings in Game 7, advance to Round 2 for first time since 2017

The Edmonton Oilers have advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 2-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings in Game 7.

It’s the first time since 2017 that the Oilers are among the NHL’s final eight teams. They will play the winner of Sunday’s Game 7 between the Calgary Flames and Dallas Stars.

Cody Ceci scored the Oilers’ only goal while Mike Smith shut the door for the shutout.
