The MATCHESFASHION.COM Sale Just Started, and It's So Good

I’m picky when it comes to sale shopping, mostly because I’m overly cautious about being swayed into buying items just because they have a discounted price. That’s why my top sale tip is to always focus on timeless classics or standout pieces that truly bring you joy as well as items you’ve had on your wish list for a long time. The high street can sometimes come through, particularly for classics like outerwear and denim. But personally, I use sale periods as an opportunity to invest in those luxury items that really elevate your wardrobe for less, a tip I learnt from the best fashion editors out there. You can guarantee you’re getting excellent quality and usually bag a really good deal.

That’s why my heart started to beat a little faster when I saw MATCHESFASHION.COM had kicked off its summer sale this week with up to 50% off. At first glance, I knew this was going to be good—my fellow editors and I even exchanged very excitable Slack messages in disbelief at some of the pieces included. Now that I’ve scrolled through all 31 pages (yep), I can tell you with confidence this is Matches’s best sale yet. And it couldn’t have come at a better time. Just as the sun comes out and we’re heading into a “normal” summer full of events and holidays once again, this edit full of beautiful and versatile dresses, classic sandals and wardrobe staples is very, very welcome indeed.

Sales can sometimes be overflowing with off-season items coming to the end of their shelf life—but not this one. Especially now that trends are less of a thing, there are so many pieces here that were already on my current wish list that I know I’ll still want to wear for years to come. Of course, with literally thousands of products going into the sale, there are some duds to wade through. So to save you the hassle, I’ve pulled together a concise list of 30 editor-approved pieces you’ll never regret investing in.

Keep scrolling to see for yourselves and shop before these top-tier finds inevitably sell out…

It’s not often best sellers go into sale, so this is such a good opportunity to snap up this epic dress.

The dress every fashion person owns or wants right now is in the sale in lots of sizes—it’s a miracle!

That jacket! *Adds to basket.*

This colour + the flattering shape = one versatile dress you’ll love for many years to come.

We’ve all got our eyes on Birkenstock’s premium 1774 sandals this year. With the amount I wear them, I know they’d be worth the cost per wear.

This dress is so pretty, and it’s one you can pull out for all occasions, from the races to summer parties, for many years to come.

Whether you’re a bride-to-be or just a fan of fabulous fashion, this cult feather dress fits the bill.

Just add lashings of gold jewellery, a basket and simple sandals and you’ve got yourself a dream holiday outfit that also works for the office.

Such a pretty style for weddings!

I think this JW Anderson crossbody is the perfect size, and it’s now at a great price for a luxury designer bag.

These cult platforms are still living rent-free in mine and my fellow editors’ minds.

Here’s more quilting that I can’t get enough of. The quality of Sea dresses is incredible.

A classic pair of jeans you’ll wear forever.

Such an easy midi dress you’re guaranteed to get so much wear out of.

This is such a versatile dress that would make you feel great for so many occasions.

This is the perfect opportunity to invest in these timeless trainers. They’re also the best trainers to wear with dresses, IMO.

All I want to wear this summer is floofy minidresses and strappy sandals.

I told you. Frilly minis are the way to go.

The perfect nice top to pair with jeans.

This dress would work for summer occasions and Christmas parties, so you know it’s worth the investment.

Maxis are back, and this one is on another level. I want to flounce around in it at all the weddings I have this year.

A dreamy dress for beach days or heatwaves.

I see red as a classic colour for a handbag. Just look at how it elevates a simple trench.

Classic Alighieri gold hoops in the sale? It would be rude not to.

Erm hello, sleeves!

I know I would live in these jeans all summer.

This jacket has been on my wish list for so long. I’d wear it with white denim like the outfit above.

To be honest, this whole outfit is my summer goal, but I’ll start with the jeans.

The subtle gold chain, the buttery-soft leather, the slouch—there’s nothing I don’t love about this bag. It’s a great investment if you’ve been looking for a larger style to fit lots in.

You might not need a jumper right now, but you’ll thank yourself for buying this cult jumper when autumn comes along.
