40 Perfect Autumn Hits From Zara, COS and & Other Stories

At Who What Wear, we firmly believe that every item you buy should be viewed as an investment. It should be something that you love and that excites you, that you return to time and time again because of the joy it brings. We also firmly believe that that statement doesn’t just apply to designer pieces. Thanks to the high-street, there are plenty of elevated (and affordable) staples out there that are worthy of a place in your wardrobe.

There are some hight-street brands that continue to impress us season after season—& Other Stories, COS and Zara to name a few—and each serve a different purpose. Zara is all about the trend-led pieces mixed with sleek, tailored separates, as well as an ample offering of insanely good coats, shoes and earrings. COS is my go-to for when I need a confidence boost. Beautiful quality but at a reasonable price point, its new-ins are always effortlessly chic and easy to wear. Last but not least is & Other Stories, who rule on knitwear and tailoring especially; the striped half-zips and wool oversized blazers are staples in every Who What Wear editor’s autumn wardrobe.

But with 100s of new pieces landing online every week, it can be difficult to work out what’s a cut above the rest. That’s where I come in. As a self-proclaimed fussy shopper, I consider it a skill to be able to spot the hero pieces a mile off, so I scoured the new-in pages to bring you only the best of the best. Expect everything from relaxed tailoring to cosy knits and stylish boots to sensational sequins. Keep scrolling to discover my favourite new-in pieces, as well as some tips on how to style them.

There are no words to describe my love for striped knitwear, and this amazing turtle-neck style is sure to be a sellout. Wear with light-wash denim or over tailored trousers as above.

These low-waist trousers will work hard for you this season. Add a knit or an oversized shirt for a casual look or style with a bandeau top as we head into party season.

Knitted dresses are a great choice when battling the confusing, in-between weather. Just add trainers, chunky sandals or boots.

I missed out on this asymmetric cardigan last year  and I will not be making the same mistake twice!

I’m seeing a sprinkling of sequins in the new-in sections this week and it’s making me very excited. This mini will look great paired with a cashmere jumper and oversized wool coat.

I love these sequin trousers. As with the mini, wear with cosy separates or pair with a simple t-shirt and oversized blazer.

A classic! This blazer sells out every year and I can see why. It is cut beautifully and is crafted from quality wool.

It’s all about zebra print this season. I love this knit as a subtle nod to the trend.

Invest in a down coat now so you’re ready to go when the temperature drops.

I couldn’t not include this pretty mini dress, which looks so lovely styled with this season’s It shoe: the Mary-Jane.

The brand bring these mock neck sweaters out year after year, in a variety of different colours. This year there are six shades to choose from including this frosty white.

Leather blazers are having a moment and this is one of the best I’ve seen on the high-street this season.

Cowboy boots are going nowhere! How amazing is this monochrome pair?

COS never fails to deliver on the relaxed tailoring trend; these wool trousers have just the perfect amount of slouch.

Half-zip sweaters are going nowhere. Wear this chic grey style with denim or leather.

Another example of the brand’s excellent tailoring offering. Try this deep camel shade if you’re looking to avoid black this season.

I saw one of our editors in this dress and haven’t stopped thinking about it since. Style as is or add a poplin shirt underneath and knee-high boots.

COS is really leaning into this bold blue colour this autumn.

A white handbag is a chic addition to any all-black look.

Mini skirts are back. This a-line style is really flattering and just short enough.

Who can resist a gorgeous cashmere knit? I love the oversized shape of this one.

Leather trousers are just as essential as good denim in autumn, and these barrel-leg trousers are a cool take on the style.

If you’re looking for a grown-up way to do the Barbiecore trend, this is it.

This longline coat will go with so many autumn outfits, where it’s jeans and knits or dresses and boots.

I love a bib-collar for a twist on the classic white shirt.

Capes are going to be big news this year, so consider investing in the wool style ahead of the cold weather.

How amazing is this Zebra print mini dress? Wear it as above with knee-high boots or pair with loafers.

If you’re yet to invest in a waistcoat, why not consider this halter-neck style?

Another stripe, but this time with a black base. I love how the brand’s paired it with this mini skirt.

Cargo trousers are all over my Instagram feed right now. Opt for a denim blue style like these instead of ubiquitous khaki for something a bit different.

This sequinned dress is sure to make a statement come party season.

Zara always has a great boot offering. These have a solid block heel so they’re easier to walk in than other pairs.

Everyone in the WWW office is in agreement: this dress is a winner.

You can never go wrong with a satin shirt. This one features a bow tie at the back and flattering cowl neckline.

I love a striped blazer for a French-girl take on tailoring.

Zara earrings always impress me. Pair these with a casual knitwear look to add a special touch.

Cowboy boots are the footwear of choice for the fashion set this season.

You can never go wrong with a Zara midi dress. This versatile printed style can be dressed up or down with a simple swap of accessories.
