This Best-Selling Totême Knit Is Back, and Now I Want All 3 Colours

In fashion, you know something is a sound investment when you see it being worn year after year, and that’s certainly the case with Totême’s striped sweater. First released in 2019, the jumper sparked a Breton knitwear movement that hasn’t slowed in the slightest over the past three years. As we head into autumn, Instagram’s finest have begun digging out their Totême originals in preparation for the colder temperatures. But what is it that makes this particular knit so special?

While I’m yet to invest in it myself, I have seen it firsthand, and I can confirm it’s essentially a style trifecta: it’s ageless, versatile, and premium-looking. Of course, it should look premium—it’s designer, and the price reflects that, but even I, someone who is famously stingy with their money, can see it is a worthy investment. In addition to the impressive qualities listed above, it’s also got an incredibly chic silhouette, with just the right amount of oversizing. The wide sleeves and high neckline set it apart from other striped sweaters on the scene, making it all the more covetable.

Totême’s striped sweater now comes in three chic colourways.

Initially, the Totême striped sweater came in two variations; cream and black, with the cream being the dominant hue, and then the reverse. Both of these styles are still available. New for 2022, however, is a beige and brown colourway, which taps into the overarching brown trend we saw on the autumn/winter runways.

In a testament to its versatility, below, I’ve assembled a handful of ways influencers are styling their Totême striped sweaters this season, along with all three colours for you to consider. Then, continue on to see other striped knitwear options that I love for 2022.

Style Notes: Jessica creates a cool transitional look by styling her Totême striped sweater with leather shorts and over-the-knee boots.

It’s so hard to choose, but this variation might be my favourite.

Style Notes: India pairs her Totême striped knit with another wardrobe classic—a camel blazer.

I love how this looks styled with tailored trousers, too.

Style Notes: Anouk gives her Totême striped jumper a downtime spin with black faded jeans and lace-up boots.

This is the latest addition to the Totême stripe knit line-up, and boy is it pretty.

Style Notes: Emily proves that the knit works just as well with elegant skirting as it does jeans.
