How Hungry Are You: Alek Manoah calls out fellow AL East ace

Toronto Blue Jays star pitcher Alek Manoah did not hesitate when asked about who the biggest cheater is in baseball history. This was the first of many “spicy questions” he was faced with on “How Hungry Are You,” presented by Samsung Bespoke. This is the segment where the host, Serge Ibaka poses a handful of “spicy questions” to the guest (Manoah) who must answer or be faced with drinking a gross tea Ibaka has chosen.

Manoah immediately answered with the name of a well-known ace and accused him of using “a lot of sticky stuff to make his pitches better.”

This isn’t the first time in the episode that Manoah brings up the opposing pitcher. He details the strife between them and telling him “to come all the way (to the mound) next time and see what happens” after video showed the player leaving the dugout but not going for Manoah directly in what can be inferred from Manoah’s expression as a fake tough guy moment.

The episode begins with the pair eating food native to Congo and western Africa as they discuss Manoahs’s journey to MLB stardom.

Ibaka goes on to ask who the most famous person in Manoah’s contact list is and it turns out to be a former NBA player that he must then call on the spot.

Before meeting Manoah, Ibaka learns that he is a big fan of sushi and serves up his own take on the popular cuisine by including all normal ingredients but adds fish sperm as the protein in the centre of it all.

Catch Manoah’s reaction and answers to all of this along with stars Fred VanVleet, Matty Matheson and Giannis Antetokounmpo in their own episodes on “How Hungry Are You.” The episodes will air Nov. 18, 19 and 20 on SN NOW, Sportsnet and Ibaka’s YouTube Channel, and on Sportsnet TV.
