Borjan gaffe leads to quick opening goal for Morocco vs. Canada

Canada had a rough start to its final 2022 FIFA World Cup match.

In its third Group F match against Morocco, Canada conceded a goal in the fourth minute due to a defensive mishap.

Steven Vitoria played the ball back to Milan Borjan, but a high Moroccan press forced the Canadian goalkeeper to scramble and pass the ball into the midfield.

Borjan’s attempt at a clearance fell straight to Hakim Ziyech, and the Chelsea winger immediately buried his chance into an empty net.

Canada will need to play catch-up soccer in an attempt to leave Qatar with at least one point in the tournament.
