Goncalo Ramos, who started in place of Cristiano Ronaldo, scored a hat trick to lead Portugal to a 6-1 win over Switzerland to reach the quarterfinals of the World Cup.
Pepe, Raphaël Guerreiro and Rafael Leao also scored for Portugal, who will take on Morocco in the quarterfinals. Morocco moved on after a stunning win over Spain earlier Tuesday.
Going into the match, the big storyline was Ronaldo not being included in the starting lineup because Portugal coach Fernando Santos expressed frustration with his attitude against South Korea.
