The Montreal Canadiens head into the 2023 NHL Draft with the fifth-overall pick and are already making moves.
On Tuesday, Montreal traded for Alex Newhook from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defenceman Gianni Fairbrother and the 31st and 37th overall draft picks.
General manager Kent Hughes will meet with reporters in Nashville to give his thoughts on the trade and the rest of the team’s plans heading into the draft.
