In the 13 years I’ve spent writing (and let’s face it, obsessing) over fashion, I’ve come to the conclusion that there’s no such thing as coincidences, especially when it pertains to seeing a person wearing something similar to someone else. And given the fact that I’ve just witnessed two of the most stylish people wearing the same exact colour, I know it’s only a matter of time before it’ll begin to catch on.
Earlier in the month, you might remember we brought a handful of expensive-looking colours that were doing the rounds to your attention. What struck me most was 1) how little of this colour I’ve seen lately. It’s a shade I consider to be very classic, never driven by trends but somewhat omnipresent in collections each season. And 2) just how expensive it looks and how it loans itself to the quiet luxury aesthetic that is still reigning. Sure, Jenner’s dress may be St Agni while Huntington-Whiteley’s is Khaite but this is one of those rare colours that has a tendency to look premium no matter how much you spend on it. And I have proof.
