Any One of These Expensive-Looking H&M Items Will Elevate Your Wardrobe

I might be a fashion editor, but the last thing I’d ever do is pressure you to shop. I believe that every purchase—be it £10 or £1000—needs to be considered wisely. Will I wear it enough? Will it go with my existing wardrobe? Will it still be relevant six months from now? These are just some of the questions I ask myself whenever I have the urge or need to buy something new. And I can honestly say that I can answer “yes” to the below pieces from H&M.

H&M is always the first place I head to when I’m in need of affordable basics or pieces to pep up my clothing rotation. I didn’t purchase much earlier in 2023, as I was in the midst of moving house, but now that I’m settled into my new home and no longer have to spend my disposable income on moving boxes, I thought I should treat myself. I deserve it, right? So onto H&M‘s new-arrivals page I went, and wow, I was impressed. From classy wide-leg trousers to blazers so sleek they looks as if they costs three times as much, I was taken aback by the sheer number of elevated items there were. I truly believe they’ll sell out, too, so I thought I better show you while stock levels are high. Behold, what this editor thinks are the best H&M items of 2023 so far. I’ll, of course, update this as the year progresses, but for now, take in the new-season spring goodness.

H&M’s cashmere is some of the best on the high street.

I get so much wear out of my blue-stripe shirts.

Well, doesn’t this look premium?

I rate H&M’s tailored trousers, so I have high hopes for this new style.

Slingbacks are a key shoe trend for autumn/winter.

If there’s one thing H&M does so, so well, it’s blazers.

A great Y2K-inspired set.

So chic.

Heart-shaped jewellery continues to dominate the accessory scene.

A sublime jean cut.

Knitwear has been at the forefront of my mind this week, especially when styles as chic as this are beginning to drop.

A sleek look all-round.

This looks so premium.

H&M’s trench coats never hang around for long.

Just brilliant.

The hourglass cut on this blazer makes it look even more high-end.

Denim skirts will play just as important a role in the latter half of the year.

You had me at “monochrome stripes”.

No, that price is not a typo.

A chic alternative to summer’s jersey vests.

I find it impossible to resist matching separates.

The ballet-flat obsession continues.

The perfect “going out” top.

This will look just as good with boots as it does sandals and loafers.

Ready for business.

My working-from-home wardrobe could use a jumper like this.

The combination of tweed and patent here is perfect.

Ideal for any warm-weather trips you may have planned.
