Blue Jays will face Twins in playoffs after finishing third in wild-card race

The Toronto Blue Jays will travel to Minnesota to face the Twins in next week’s wild-card series after finishing in the third and final wild-card spot in the American League.

With the Houston Astros officially winning the AL West, the Texas Rangers will drop to the second wild-card and the Blue Jays the third.

The Twins (88-74) are in the wild-card round after winning the AL Central division title.

The winner of the Jays-Twins series will then face the Astros in the Division Series, after the Astros beat the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday to clinch the AL West crown.

The Tampa Bay Rays will host the Rangers in the other wild-card series, with the winner slotted to face the Baltimore Orioles in the Division Series.
