It’s first thing in the morning and I’m sat on the sofa typing away while wearing my fluffiest socks and wrapped in my warmest blanket. Yep, winter is officially making its return. Despite feeling the cold, there are lots of things I love about this season. Wearing my favourite oversized coats, burning my winter candles and sipping on warm cups of hot chocolate are just a few things that come to mind, but top of my list has to be red nails.
You might be thinking, can’t you wear red nails all year round? The answer is absolutely, but for some reason, I always go back to this chic shade in the autumn and winter months. I don’t know whether it’s because I tend to wear darker colours, so I feel as if it adds a nice contrast to my look, or because there is something almost festive about the manicure trend, but what I do know is that whenever I wear red nail polish, I always get compliments on how expensive my nails look.
This year, I predict that the red nail polish trend will be bigger than ever. Not only does the hashtag #rednailpolish have 36.5 million views and counting on TikTok, but this colour has been seen all over the runways at fashion week, so it’s no surprise that it’s making its way into our manicures too. There’s no denying that the shade is an absolute classic, but what I love about the colour is that it suits every skin tone and every nail shape imaginable. Not only that, but you can totally tailor this trend to suit you.
