TikTok Has Spoken—These Are the 6 Hair Trends to Try This Winter

With the sudden drop in temperature, it feels like winter is well and truly on its way. As the new season approaches, there are lots of cosy trends to try, from stylish scarf coats to red knitwear and knee-high boots. However, as a beauty editor, I’m always more interested in what makeup, skincare and hairstyles we can expect to see, and my TikTok is currently filled with lots of different hair trends to try out this winter.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been seeing some super cute looks on social media, loved by celebrities and beauty influencers alike. Therefore, I thought it was only right to talk you through all of the biggest TikTok winter hair trends of 2023, so that you can try them out for yourself and see what all the hype is about.

From different hair colours to easy hairstyles and fun accessories, there are lots of looks to choose from, and some of them are so easy to recreate. As with most TikTok trends, I have no doubt that we will be seeing these styles everywhere for the season ahead, so keep on scrolling to see which ones take your fancy. After writing this, I think I might have to give all of them a go…

Bow accessories are the cool-girl approved hair trend to try this winter. I have been seeing everyone on my feed giving this look a go, and it’s safe to say that I’m a little bit obsessed. There are so many ways you can wear these cute clips and hair ties, from adding them to the end of plaits to doing a half-up, half-down style like Hailey Bieber.

If the smaller bows aren’t your thing, why not opt for a more statement accessory and add a large bow clip or hair tie to the back of your ponytail? This is the perfect look for party season.

These dainty clips are so adorable, and come in pretty pastel pink and baby blue shades.

I will definitely be wearing this green hair bow on Christmas Day.

Say goodbye to your middle parting, as it seems that side partings are here to stay. As someone who has parted their hair in the middle for their whole life, I was reluctant to give this trend a go, but even I have to admit that it looks so sleek.

If it’s good enough for the celebs, then it’s definitely good enough for me.

In order to get that sharp, sleek finish, use a small comb to part your hair to your chosen side.

You can even add some hair gel to help keep everything in place.

If there is one colour that I’m obsessed with for the colder months, it’s rich brunette, and it seems I’m not alone. In fact, almost everyone on my TikTok feed has been dying their hair darker in preparation for winter, and this deep chocolate shade makes your hair look so healthy and glossy.

It suits all different hair types, and after looking at pictures, I think I might have to book an appointment with my hairdresser ASAP.

If you want to give it a go, this temporary colour gel from Christophe Robin is great for those of you who are already brunette but want to cover up any lighter bits for winter.

It’s important to take care of your new hair colour, so opt for a shampoo that will neutralise any unwanted red and orange tones.

The slicked-back bun has been in style for a while now, but it seems to be having a major revival on social media this winter thanks to celebs such as Sofia Richie showing us how they achieve the look. This hairstyle is perfect for the upcoming season, as it’s super easy to wear with chunky knitwear and roll necks.

Not only that, but it’s also super easy to recreate. Whenever I’m in a rush in the mornings, this is the hairstyle that I rely on to make me look put together in seconds.

I used to struggle with keeping my bun looking neat all day, but these hairbands are great at securing it in place.

To get that slicked-back finish, try using a hair wax stick like this one. I use it on all my flyaways and it’s ideal for throwing in your bag in case you need to sort out your hair throughout the day.

You didn’t think I would do a hair trends roundup and not include a bob hairstyle, did you? It’s no secret that everyone is loving short hair at the moment, but TikTokers are especially loving the wavy bob. This low-maintenance look is a fun and easy way to switch up your bob for winter, and is great for embracing your natural hair texture, too.

If you want to look really chic, pair your wavy bob with a wispy fringe.

For those with wavy or curly hair, add a curl cream into your routine to help emphasise your hair’s natural shape.

For a refresh in between washes, Kerastase has got you covered with this leave-in spray that adds volume and shine.

Yes that’s right, auburn tones are here to stay. I first saw this trend popping up on my TikTok feed at the end of summer, but it seems that this autumnal hair shade is still proving popular for winter and beyond. I can totally see why everyone is loving this copper hue, as the warm tones just scream cosy season.

For an even warmer look, ask your hairdresser to blend brunette and copper shades together.

A hair gloss is a quick and easy way to keep your colour looking fresh in between appointments.

This glossy top coat from Pureology will also help to cover up any colour fading.
