The Los Angeles Lakers broke new ground on Saturday, taking down the Indiana Pacers 123-109 in the final of the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament in Las Vegas.
Anthony Davis was unstoppable, scoring 41 while grabbing 20 rebounds in a massive defensive effort against the best offensive team in the league.
LeBron James scored 24 and grabbed 11 rebounds and Austin Reaves led all bench scorers with 28 points.
The Lakers were a force in the first iteration of the In-Season Tournament, finishing their run to the NBA Cup with a perfect 6-0 record. They dominated their group, making quick work of the Utah Jazz, Portland Trail Blazers and Memphis Grizzlies, then took down the Phoenix Suns both in the group stage and the first knockout round.
To earn their spot in the final, they crushed the New Orleans Pelicans 133-89 behind an ageless performance from LeBron James.
Emerging superstar point guard Tyrese Haliburton finished with only 20 points while Canadian Bennedict Mathurin also had 20 points in the losing effort.
