Oilers’ Hyman scores 50th goal of season vs. Senators

Edmonton Oilers forward Zach Hyman scored his 50th goal of the 2023-24 season on Sunday, marking the first time he’s reached the milestone in his nine-year career.

Hyman scored on the power play in the second period against the Ottawa Senators to reach 50. Connor McDavid had the primary assist, finding Hyman in his office in front of the net for the tap-in goal.

The Toronto native is currently second in the NHL in goals scored this season, trailing only former teammate Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Hyman signed a seven-year contract with the Oilers in July 2021. He scored 27 goals in 2021-22 and 36 goals last season, both of which set career-high marks at the time.

Hyman, 31, becomes just the 11th player that age or older to reach the milestone.
