A mum from Grimsby, UK who claims to have the “biggest eyebrows in Britain” posted multiple TikTok videos featuring her impressive make-up skills. The videos went viral, but many people threatened to call social services on her because they thought she isn’t “fit to be a mom”. Since then she has deleted her TikTok profile, so the trolls succeeded.
The dramatic make-up look has gained her tens of thousands of followers and almost 1 million likes on TikTok, with millions of combined views on her videos – some of which were tutorials on how to get the same eyebrow look for yourself if you so wish. However despite amassing countless fans, she told, “People have said I shouldn’t be a mom and they are going to call social services because of my eyebrows. It gets really extreme on the internet. They can call social services because I have nothing to hide. My eyebrows don’t determine whether I’m a good mother or not.”
Sammie-Jo explained that she is not a fan today’s beauty standards, and that by doing her eyebrows in such a dramatic way, she feels like she is making a statement. She revealed that despite such hateful comments about her make-up, she has also received plenty of men messaging her looking for a date, “I have had quite a few men in my inbox telling me I’m beautiful and saying they would date me – they always mention the eyebrows first, so maybe there is a fetish there.”
