Golden State Warriors receive: PF Jimmy Butler
Miami Heat receive: PF Andrew Wiggins, PG Dennis Schroder, F Kyle Anderson and a protected first-round pick
Details: The Heat finally moved on from the disgruntled star who requested a trade after multiple suspensions. This will be Butler’s fifth NBA team and is veraging 17 points this season.

Sacramento Kings receive: C Jonas Valančiūnas
Washington Wizards receive: Sidy Cissoko, two second-round picks
Details: The Kings continued to re-augment their team by adding front court depth in Jonas Valančiūnas. The 6’11 big man is averaging 11.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 49 games for the rebuilding Washington Wizards this season.

Oklahoma City Thunder receive: C Daniel Theis, 2031 second-round pick (least favourable of New Orleans and Orlando)
New Orleans Pelicans receive: Cash consideration
Details: In a mutually beneficial move, the Thunder add depth at the centre position where they have been plagued by injury all season. The Pelicans also shed Theis’s $2.1-million cap hit to duck below the luxury-tax line.

Houston Rockets receive: G Jaden Springer, 2030 second-round pick, protected second-round pick
Boston Celtics receive: Protected second-round pick
Details: Springer, the former first-round pick, heads to Houston after 26 appearances with the Celtics this season in which he averaged 1.7 points per game. The Rockets, who sit third in the West, beef up their defensive depth with the addition of Springer.
Milwaukee Bucks receive: PF Kyle Kuzma, SF Patrick Baldwin Jr., second-round pick
Washington Wizards receive: SG Khris Middleton, SG A.J. Johnson, a first-round pick swap
Details: The Milwaukee Bucks have moved three-time all-star Middleton to the last-place Wizards for Kuzma. Injuries have limited Middleton to just 23 games this season and his scoring has dipped to just 12.6 points per game. Kuzma’s scoring has also dipped to just 15.2 points per game this year, but the trade does move the Bucks below the second apron.

Detroit Pistons receive: PF K.J. Martin, 2027 second-round pick, 2031 second-round pick
Philadelphia 76ers receive: TBA
Details: The 76ers are moving Martin’s full $8 million contract to the Pistons and including two draft picks to get the trade across the line. The 2027 second-round pick originally belonged to the Milwaukee Bucks and the 2031 second-round pick comes via the Dallas Mavericks.

Dallas Mavericks receive: SF Caleb Martin
Philadelphia 76ers receive: SG Quentin Grimes, 2025 second-round pick
Details: The Mavericks have made another move, this time on a much smaller scale, acquiring wing depth in Caleb Martin for fourth-year guard Quentin Grimes and the return of the 76ers’ own second-round pick. Martin is averaging 9.1 points and 4.4 rebounds this season. Grimes is posting stat line of 10.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.

Oklahoma City Thunder receive: 2030 second-round pick (via Denver)
Charlotte Hornets receive: 2029 second-round pick (via Phoenix)
Details: If there’s a deal centred around draft picks, rest assured OKC general manager Sam Presti is likely to be involved. With the swapping of future second-rounders, the Thunder spread out their abundance of draft capital. Essentially trading back a year, Oklahoma City now has five seconds in 2029 and four in 2030 as opposed to six and three previously. What any of that means, or amounts to, may not be known for nearly half a decade. In the meantime, speculate away.

San Antonio Spurs receive: PG De’Aaron Fox, PG Jordan McLaughlin
Sacramento Kings receive: SG Zach LaVine, SF Sidy Cissoko, 2025 first-round pick (top-14 protected), 2027 first-round pick, 2031 first-round pick, 2025 second-round pick, 2028 second-round pick, 2028 second-round pick
Chicago Bulls receive: SG Kevin Huerter, C Zach Collins, PG Tre Jones, 2025 first-round pick
Details: The Spurs found their superstar pairing for Victor Wembanyama, teaming him up with Fox, who is averaging 25.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.5 steals through 45 games with Sacramento this season. In return, the Kings acquired LaVine from the Bulls, who is averaging 24.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists.

Dallas Mavericks receive: C Anthony Davis, SG Max Christie, 2029 first-round pick
Utah Jazz receive: SG Jalen Hood-Schifino, 2025 second-round pick, 2025 second-round pick
Details: In a trade of unprecedented magnitude, the Mavericks dealt perennial MVP candidate Doncic to the Lakers for two-way superstar Davis. Among players with at least 400 games, Doncic’s 28.6-point average is third in NBA history behind only Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain — both at 30.1.

Details: Richards helps fill a need for the Suns, who are struggling to find consistency in the paint. The seven-foot Richards averaged 7.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in five seasons with the Hornets with 74 starts.

Details: Finney-Smith averaged 10.4 points and 4.6 rebounds while hitting a career-best 43.5 per cent of his 3-point attempts this season for the Nets, who acquired him from Dallas in the February 2023 trade of Kyrie Irving.
