Capitals’ Alex Ovechkin scores 890th career goal, five away from record

Alex Ovechkin scored his 890th goal in a different fashion that we’re used to seeing.

Far from his office, the Washington Capitals captain deflected a shot in front of Buffalo Sabres goalie James Reimer for the milestone marker.

He is now four goals away from tying Wayne Gretzky and five away from setting the record for most goals in NHL history.
