Is the third time really the charm? We’ll soon find out.
Rachel Homan will return to the Olympics after beating Christina Black 12-3 in the Canadian curling trials final on Saturday in Halifax.
Homan won the championship series 2-0 after also claiming a 5-4 victory on Friday.
The third end in Saturday’s match proved decisive, with Homan playing shot rock perfectly to score four and break an early 2-2 tie.
Black, despite having her hometown crowd behind her, never recovered. She shook hands after eight ends.
Milano-Cortina 2026 will mark the Ottawa native’s third Olympic appearance. She previously placed sixth in the women’s event at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang and finished fourth alongside John Morris in mixed doubles at Beijing 2022.
More to come.
