The New York Rangers spoiled Florida’s Winter Classic moment in convincing fashion.
The visitors defeated the host Panthers 5-1 on Friday night at LoanDepot Park in Miami.
Mika Zibanejad recorded a hat trick, the first in Winter Classic history, and Artemi Panarin scored New York’s other two goals.
Florida’s lone goal, meanwhile, came from Sam Reinhart in the third period.
Goaltender Igor Shesterkin made 35 saves in the win.
