Report: Kyle Tucker in agreement on contract with Dodgers

Kyle Tucker has landed his payday.

The star outfielder agreed to a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Tucker, the top free agent available this off-season, is coming off a one-year stint with the Chicago Cubs after being dealt to the Windy City last December.

The 28-year-old helped the Cubs back to the post-season in 2025, posting an .841 OPS in 136 games while smashing 22 homers and driving in 73 runs. Tucker also earned his fourth career all-star nod and second career Silver Slugger.

Originally a first-round pick of the Houston Astros in 2015, Tucker debuted with the club in 2018 and spent the first seven seasons of his career wearing the orange and blue. He helped the Astros to a World Series title in 2022, hitting two home runs in that Fall Classic to lift Houston over the Philadelphia Phillies in six games.

Facing down his final year of team control last off-season, though, the Astros shopped Tucker, eventually finding a deal with the Cubs. Chicago sent a package of Isaac Paredes, Cam Smith and Hayden Wesneski to Houston to get the trade done.

Tucker played through a hairline fracture in his ring finger throughout the summer for the Cubs and was sidelined for most of September by a calf strain.

He returned for the playoffs as the Cubs beat the San Diego Padres in the wild-card round before losing to the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLDS. Over Chicago’s eight October contests, Tucker went 7-for-27 with one homer and five walks.

For his eight-year career, Tucker owns a .273/.358/,507 slash line with 147 big flies, 490 RBIs, 119 stolen bases and 160 doubles.
