It took a couple of nail-biting comebacks, but Canada will be playing for Olympic gold.
After rallying to beat Czechia only two days ago, Canada managed to recapture some of that late-game magic to take down Finland 3-2 in the semifinals of the men’s Olympic hockey tournament and advance to the gold-medal game.
Yet again, it was no sure thing for the pre-tournament favourites, as an early 2-0 deficit put Canada on the back foot right away.
But a goal from Sam Reinhart in the second and another from Shea Theodore in the third set up the game-winner for MacKinnon, pushing Canada through to the final.
Canada will take on the winner of the Slovakia-USA game, which will take place later on Friday.
More to come…
