LAFC co-managing owner Larry Berg voted as next MLS commissioner

  • Berg is a senior partner at private equity firm 26North

  • Commissioner will take over on 1 January 2027

The Major League Soccer board of governors has voted to install Los Angeles FC co-managing owner Larry Berg as the league’s next commissioner.

Berg will succeed Don Garber as the head of the 30-year-old league, with a term starting on 1 January 2027. He will be the third commissioner in MLS history.
