One of my most-worn fall layers is the J.Crew rollneck sweater, an iconic staple since 1988. Since then, its even been reimagined by New York designers Eckhaus Latta, Collina Strada, Buci, Tanner Fletcher, and Patrick Taylor. Loved by several of my colleagues (Eliza Huber, Bobby Schuessler, and Lauren Eggertsen), I like wearing it with capris and ballet flats when it starts to cool off.
The latest version of the line is the Tiny Rollneck Sweater, which associate fashion editor Nikki Chwatt recently covered the launch of and wrote: “Something about its modern shrunken silhouette, chunky ribbed cuffs, and hem felt like it would integrate effortlessly into my wardrobe—and, as it turns out, my intuition was right.”
Beyond the popular rollneck range, the retailer is known for its dedicated cashmere section called The Cashmere Shop, with under-$200 options. I have a cardigan and high v-neck sweater from it that I wear on repeat, and I’m eyeing the royal purple Perfect Cashmere Cardigan and the Cashmere-Wool Blend Poncho next.
