From Black Orchid to Lost Cherry, These Are the 9 Tom Ford Fragrances Worth Knowing

If you’re aware of at least one Tom Ford fragrance already, it’s probably Black Orchid. It’s dark, sensual, and complex, combining earthy black truffle and patchouli with rich plum, rum and the brand’s signature black orchid accord. Despite its floral heart, this is far from a traditionally pretty floral fragrance—it has a deep, almost velvety quality that gives it plenty of presence and longevity. It’s the sort of scent that makes me feel instantly dressed-up, so I often wear it for evenings out and occasions when I want my fragrance to really make a statement.

It’s opulent, enveloping and particularly well suited to occasions when you want something with real staying power and presence.

Compared to the above, Santal Blush is a softer, more intimate take on woody fragrance, centred around creamy sandalwood rather than dry or smoky woods. I love that it sits close to the skin, creating a warm, smooth, “my skin scent, but better” effect. I’ve never really loved rose-based scents, but this one changed my mind about the ingredient completely. Rather than smelling like the sweet coffee-and-rose gourmand that you might expect, I’d describe this more as a floral-woody blend. It’s warm and enveloping without being overwhelmingly heavy, making it a luxurious winter alternative to the more obvious oud-led scents.

Soleil Brûlant offers a very different interpretation of summer than a fresh citrus fragrance like Neroli Portofino above. Mandarin and bergamot give it a bright opening, but pink pepper, orange flower, and black honey add a warm, almost sun-baked sweetness to the composition. To me, it literally smells like sun-kissed skin.
