It’s safe to say that high-street designer collaborations are now almost as ubiquitous in fashion as a camel trench coat. There is, however, one enduring partnership that, with almost a decade under its belt, continues to stand apart: Uniqlo x JW Anderson.
First launched in 2017, the collaboration has become something of a fixture in the fashion calendar, and its latest autumn/winter instalment is every bit as good as I’ve come to expect. Once again, Jonathan Anderson brings his distinctly British sensibility to Uniqlo’s knack for creating genuinely useful wardrobe staples, resulting in a collection that feels equal parts preppy, heritage-inspired and effortlessly wearable. Think British academia, countryside classics and collegiate dressing, all filtered through the kind of easy silhouettes you’ll actually want to wear every day.

Standouts include a checked shirt I can already imagine wearing buttoned up with jeans, tied around my waist or nonchalantly draped over my shoulders, alongside an excellent blouson jacket and classic straight-leg denim. Knitwear is particularly strong, too, with preppy layers and cosy winter staples that feel unmistakably JW Anderson without losing the simplicity Uniqlo does so well.
The result is a collection filled with pieces that feel familiar but never boring, and if previous Uniqlo X JW Anderson drops are anything to go by, I suspect the best pieces won’t hang around for long. The checked shirt is one of my standouts from the entire collection. Available in three chic shades, the pink is undeniably my favourite.

JW Anderson’s iconic straight-leg jeans, now available in three washes and lengths—a dream come true.

A navy jacket is hardly groundbreaking, but the silhouette makes this one feel much more current.

There’s something so inherently elegant about a V-neck jumper, and JW Anderson reimagines the wardrobe classic in five elegant shades.

A well-cut shirt is never a bad investment, but JW Anderson’s eye for proportion gives this one considerably more personality.
