DK Metcalf, Seahawks gash Eagles in Monday Night Football win

Led by the electric connection between Russell Wilson and DK Metcalf, the Seattle Seahawks were in control on both sides of the ball in a 23-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.

Metcalf hauled in 10 catches for 177 yards, which pushed him beyond the 1,000-yard mark just 11 games into the season. The second-year wideout, who leads the NFL in receiving yards, became the fastest player in franchise history to reach the 1,000 yards in a season.

Wilson was an efficient 22-for-31 for 230 yards and one touchdown. More importantly, he was only sacked twice and didn’t commit any turnovers.

On the other side, Carson Wentz was sacked six times — bringing his NFL-high mark up to 46 — and threw his NFL-leading 15th interception. Seattle ranks last in the NFL in total defence, but the Eagles only managed 250 total yards.

The Seahawks (8-3) pull a game ahead in the hotly contested NFC West, while the Eagles (3-7-1) remain in third in the NFC East — yet somehow are still only a half-game out of a share for first place.
