Antonio Brown: Buccaneers are ‘promoting a totally false narrative’ of incident

For the first time since he left the field on Sunday for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Antonio Brown has spoken.

In a statement from his attorney Sean Burstyn, Brown claims that not only did he play with an injured ankle against the New York Jets on Sunday, he told coach Bruce Arians about it multiple times and now requires surgery.

Brown also says that the Buccaneers are “promoting a totally false narrative” from the incident and are “demanding” that he visits a doctor to examine his ankle injury.

The incident in question occurred during the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Jets when Brown decided to take off his jersey and shoulder pads and leave the field, gesturing to fans on his way out.

A video taken by fans from the sidelines showed Mike Evans trying to keep Brown from taking his jersey off, but he was not able to convince his teammate to stay.

Earlier on Wednesday, Arians stated that Buccaneers management is dealing with the ramifications after saying that Brown “is no longer a Buc” after Sunday’s game.
