Argentina, Poland advance, Mexico eliminated by goal differential in Group C

Argentina and Poland have advanced from Group C to the Round of 16 at the World Cup, while Mexico is out of the tournament.

Argentina finished first in the group with six points after defeating Poland 2-0 Wednesday. Mexico, after simultaneously defeating Saudi Arabia 2-1, finished tied with Poland at four points but lost out on goal differential.

Saudi Arabia finished last in the Group C with three points — coming from its upset win over Argentina.

Argentina will now face Australia in the next round. Poland takes on France.
