The Colorado Avalanche are re-signing captain Gabriel Landeskog on an eight-year, $56-million deal, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports.
The agreement came down to the wire as NHL teams had until midnight on July 28 to sign their own players to eight-year contracts.
Landeskog, a member of the Avalanche for 10 years and the team’s captain for nine, is coming off a seven-year, $39-million contract.
In 54 regular-season games last season, Landeskog scored 20 goals and added 32 assists, notching 13 points in 10 post-season contests.
