Bayern Munich defeated Werder Bremen 1-0 on Tuesday to clinch their record-extending eighth straight Bundesliga title.
Robert Lewandowski scored the game’s only goal, the Polish striker’s 31st of the league campaign, just before halftime to give Bayern the lead.
The only hitch Bayern suffered in the match was when Canadian Alphonso Davies was sent off after receiving his second yellow card in the 79th minute.
Werder Bremen brought some pressure after the sending off but Bayern held on for all three points thanks in large part to a finger-tip save from goalkeeper Manuel Neuer in the 89th minute.
With the victory, Bayern have now won 29 Bundesliga titles and every one since 2012-13.
More to come…
