The Toronto Blue Jays aren’t done yet.
Toronto beat the Seattle Mariners 6-2 in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series on Sunday, extending their season to a winner-take-all contest on Monday.
Trey Yesavage set the Blue Jays up for success, working 5.2 innings of two-run ball while striking out seven. He used a trio of inning-ending double plays to escape multiple jams on the night, helping him work deeper into the game than he did in his Game 2 loss.
Toronto got home runs from Addison Barger and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to spark things offensively.
Barger’s two-run blast came in the third and scored Ernie Clement, who had just tripled.
Guerrero’s homer was his sixth of the post-season and tied the franchise record for career playoff homers.
The Blue Jays added on runs in the second and seventh innings.
Game 7 will go Monday night back at Rogers Centre as Toronto and Seattle will battle it out with a trip to the World Series on the line.
More to come.
