Blue Jays, Bo Bichette agree to multi-year contract, avoiding arbitration

The Toronto Blue Jays and Bo Bichette have avoided arbitration by agreeing to a multi-year contract, Sportsnet’s Ben Nicholson-Smith reports.

Terms of the contract were not immediately known.

Bichette and the Blue Jays were scheduled to have an arbitration hearing on Thursday, Nicholson-Smith reported earlier Tuesday. He is due to become a free agent after the 2026 season.

The 24-year-old Bichette slashed .290/.333/.469 with 24 homers and 93 RBI in 159 games last season.

Bichette was picked to his first All-Star team in 2021, finishing the year with a .298/.343/.484 slash line with 29 homers and 102 RBI.

The Blue Jays picked Bichette in the second round (66th overall) of the 2016 MLB Draft. The high-schooler then received a $1.1 million signing bonus.
