Toronto Blue Jays star outfielder George Springer will begin the season on the injured list, manager Charlie Montoyo announced Wednesday.
Springer has been dealing with a Grade 2 left oblique strain in recent weeks. The team will break camp with four healthy outfielders: Randal Grichuk, Teoscar Hernandez, Lourdes Gurriel and Jonathan Davis.
The Blue Jays open the season on Thursday in New York against the Yankees with first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m. ET/10:05 a.m. PT on Sportsnet.
