Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah has been suspended five games and received an undisclosed fine for intentionally throwing at Maikel Franco in the bottom of the fourth inning of Saturday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles.
Manager Charlie Montoyo also received a one-game suspension for Manoah’s actions, which he will serve tonight.
Manoah plans to appeal his suspension, which was originally scheduled to start on Tuesday.
