The St. Louis Blues say they have discovered “discrepancies” in COVID-19 results relating to multiple players and are working with the NHL to address the issue via additional testing, the team announced Wednesday.
The Blues say more information will be available in the afternoon.
Earlier Wednesday, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported the NHL is retesting some of its teams after receiving positive COVID-19 results Tuesday night.
He added the NHLPA and the teams involved are hoping the results will prove to be false positives.
David Perron, Jake Walman and Nathan Walker, all of the St. Louis Blues, were the lone players on the NHL’s COVID-19 Protocol list as of Tuesday afternoon.
The Blues face off in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series against the Colorado Avalanche at 10:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
