The changes may have come slowly but, for one night at least, their effects were felt right away.
Playing in their first game since the firings of general manager Jim Benning and head coach Travis Green, the Vancouver Canucks put on a show for those in attendance at Rogers Arena, beating the Los Angeles Kings 4-0 on Monday night.
In place of a jersey being thrown onto the ice, fans serenaded their team and new head coach, Bruce Boudreau, with support.
Here’s how Canucks fans and media reacted to the era-beginning win, on Twitter and inside the building.
