Caboclo, Brazil stun Canada in Round 2 of FIBA World Cup

Brazil continued the upset trend at the FIBA World Cup Friday, taking down Canada 69-65 to hand the Canadians their first loss of the tournament in Round 2.

With the loss, Canada now sits in a four-way tie in Group L with a 3-1 record. Latvia’s upset of Spain earlier Friday morning means Canada now must beat Spain on Sunday to advance to the quarterfinals. A loss against Spain will end Canada’s tournament.

In what was a physical, low-scoring game, the Canadians were unable to get the clutch buckers they have been accustomed to in this tournament down the stretch.

Former Toronto Raptor Bruno Caboclo was excellent for Brazil, with a team-high 19 points and 13 rebounds.

You can watch Canada try and advance to the quarterfinals Sunday against Spain on Sportsnet and SN NOW, beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET / 6:30 a.m. PT.
