Canada crushes Sweden in Olympic women’s hockey quarterfinal

The Canadian women’s hockey team is heading to the semifinals at the Beijing Olympics.

Canada (5-0) rolled to an 11-0 win over Sweden in quarterfinal play on Friday, booking a spot in the final four.

The one-sided win was in stark contrast to the quarterfinal victory recorded by Canada’s chief rival — the United States.

The Americans were tied at 1-1 into the third period before finally breaking through for a 4-1 win over the Czech Republic.
