Team Czechia and Team Canada met on Boxing Day when the 2023 World Junior Hockey Championship first started, and the Czechs came out on top with a 5-2 victory. Now, they meet again, with gold on the line.
If Canada manages to win, they will repeat as WJC champions for the first time since 2009, the end of a five-year gold medal streak. This will already be Czechia’s first medal at the WJC since 2005 when they earned a bronze, but they have a shot at their first gold since 2001.
