Eugenie Bouchard treated fans to an entertaining match to close out her career.
The 31-year-old from Westmount, Que., lost to Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 on Wednesday night at the National Bank Open Presented by Rogers.
Bouchard announced on July 16 that she would retire at the end of her hometown event.
She upset Colombia’s Emiliana Arango 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 in the first round on Monday.
